The Browns Creek Bike Path is a paved trail that travels through the far northwestern Los Angeles neighborhood of Chatsworth. Of course, parents should always keep an eye on children while on the trail, but coyotes pose no special danger.     I took this route a couple Saturdays ago. Some of the highlights include the oldest still-standing stone building in Malibu, a small waterfall and creek, and several ruins - including the ruins of a moderate mansion. The area is almost cleared and cleaned. Its upperside is light blue in males and dull grayish blue in females.     The long-eared owl (Asio otus, previously Strix otus) is a species of owl which breeds in Europe, Asia, and North America. The flowers are a nectar source for butterflies and the fruits are enjoyed by many bird species including the road-runner.

    It is listed as "least concern" by the IUCN, on account of its wide distribution and abundance throughout North America, Mexico and into Central America. The silvery blue is found over much of the western United States and most of Canada.

    It grows between sea level and 6,000 feet (1,800 m). Hiking is a staple of outdoor life in Malibu. The lemonade berry occurs in both chaparral and coastal sage scrub communities.

    If you see a coyote, you can stop and watch, but do not approach it. These birds wait on perches to swoop down on unsuspecting prey; they may also catch insects in flight. Within Los Angeles County the trail follows the arc around Santa Monica Bay, passing through heavily populated, sandy beaches as well as more secluded, protected marine habitats, such as the Leo Carrillo and Will Rogers State Beaches.       Castilleja affinis is a species of Castilleja known by the common name coast Indian paintbrush. The trail was smooth and fun.

      The berries provided food for local Native American tribes, such as the Chumash, Tongva, and Tataviam. The bikeway begins as a well-maintained corridor that runs in the median between lanes of traffic on Chandler Boulevard. Maintain eye contact and do all you can to appear larger. The old Petro Chem plant which is pictured in the main photo is now (Oct. 2020) being cleaned up. Poison oak has waxy or shiny green leaves in spring and early summer. The Rincon Bike Trail offers both beautiful views of the Santa Barbara Channel and an important alternative to US 101 for bicyclists.

      Poison oak is an adaptable shrub or vine that grows in many habitats. Whether you're looking for an easy walking trail or a bike trail like the Omer Rains Coastal Bike Trail and Fillmore Bike Path. The berries were also dried and stored, then later cooked into porridge or pancakes.

      As with any wild animal, if it feels threatened by someone coming toward it or chasing it, it may feel the need to protect itself.

      Cruscuta californica, California dodder or witches hair, is a California native parasitic plant. Females and immature birds are mainly grey-brown with a light-colored belly.

      The trail was debris free all the way to Downey. The pier and the beach are part of Malibu Lagoon State Beach, which also protects the historic Adamson House (23200 Pacific Coast Hwy., 310/456-8432, Thurs.-Sat. It turns red in late summer and autumn before its leaves fall leaving behind bare branches during winter.

      I ride from Madera to Erringer, stop at the park, and ride back.

      Tips for prevention:

      It is a perennial plant, notable for the profusion of bright scarlet flowers in late summer and autumn. The Orange Line Bike Path is an 18-mile rail-trail paralleling the Los Angeles Metro's Orange Line rapid busway in the northern neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

      The cougar (Puma concolor), also commonly known as the mountain lion, puma, or catamount, is a large felid of the subfamily Felinae native to the Americas.

      If you are lucky enough to see a tarantula on the trail, you can take pictures because they move slowly, but humans shouldn’t touch or otherwise harass them.

      The turkey vulture (Cathartes aura), also known in some North American regions as the turkey buzzard (or just buzzard), and in some areas of the Caribbean as the John crow or carrion crow, is a vulture that is the most widespread of the New World vultures.       Calochortus plummerae is a species of mariposa lily known by the common name Plummer's mariposa lily.
